Parent training
The same strategies the team uses, taught to you, so progress holds when we are not there.
What is ABA parent training?
ABA parent training teaches you the same strategies your child's therapy team uses, so the skills your child learns in session hold up at dinner, at bedtime, and in public. A BCBA leads it and tailors it to your family's routines.
Your child spends a few hours a week with us and the rest of their life with you. That arithmetic is the entire argument for parent training. The family who knows what to do at 7 PM on a hard evening gets further than the family who waits for the next session.
This is not a lecture series. We work on the situations you actually find hard, in the order you find them hard, and we practise them with you rather than hand you a handout.
Parent training is a billable service under most plans, and it is usually written into the treatment plan alongside direct therapy rather than sold separately.
Who is it for?
- Parents and guardians of a child receiving ABA with us.
- Caregivers who want to handle hard moments with a plan instead of guesswork.
- Families where more than one adult needs to be consistent, including grandparents.
- Spanish speaking families who want the coaching in Spanish, not through an interpreter.
What will I actually learn?
Why a behavior is happening
How to read what your child is getting from a behavior, which is what makes any strategy work or fail.
What to do in the moment
A specific, practised response for the situations you find hardest, rather than general advice.
How to teach a skill
Breaking a task into steps, prompting, and fading the prompt so your child does it alone.
Reinforcement that works
What to reward, when, and how to stop a reward system turning into a bribe.
Routines that reduce hard moments
Changing the setup so a difficult moment happens less, instead of only managing it better.
Reading the data
How to tell whether something is genuinely improving, and when to say it is not.
Where it happens
We travel to your child across Miami-Dade and Broward. There is no clinic to drive to.
At home
Where the daily routines actually happen, with your own things, at the time of day they matter.
At school
Working alongside the school team on the demands of a school day, with the school's agreement.
In the community
The shop, the park, the waiting room. The places families tell us are hardest.
Is it covered by insurance?
We accept Florida Medicaid, Simply Healthcare, TRICARE, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Florida Blue, Cigna and Evernorth, Aetna, and Curative. Plans and benefits change, so we check your coverage and tell you what to expect before you commit to anything.
